Creating distinctive comic outdoor performances since 1987, Avanti Display has repeatedly incorporated water into its productions, highlighting its comic potential; a creative element that can contribute absurdity as well as poetry. Mr Lucky’s Party takes place in an ever-worsening rainstorm. In Spurting Man, water sprays out of a performer’s costume as if he is the statue in a fountain. Hydromania is a site-specific water-spectacle festival finale on a par with a pyrotechnical display.
