Anne is a professor of German Studies and Digital Humanities at Le Mans University. She is currently on leave from her professorship and works as a research officer for the European Research Infrastructure DARIAH, at the Berlin coordination office, where she develops reusable research workflows and edits the journal Transformations.
With a focus on the environmental impact of digital technologies, Anne’s recent research includes Europe-wide contributions to a variety of scholarly and activist networks. Her book From Handwriting to Footprinting. Text and Heritage in the Age of Climate Crisis (Open Book Publishers) was published in 2023 and has become a major reference. She holds a PhD in German studies from the Université Paris-8 Saint-Denis and an habilitation in Philosophy and Social Sciences from the EHESS.
